Highgate House

HIGHGATE HOUSE – 2015
34 sqm Kitchen project
Approx. budget £44K

A kitchen design created for a newly created modernist family home.

After meeting the client at the London Design Junction exhibition, where we exhibited a new „box” kitchen model, we were given the task of creating a kitchen interior matching the modern and minimalist shape of the house, while taking into account traditional carpentry craftsmanship and stare of art technological solutions in the selection of kitchen appliances. We played around with the arrangement of three solid boxes – two long, green, horizontal elements and, in contrast, one black vertical. We decided not to use the standard hanging cabinets above the kitchen counter which allowed us to obtain the effect of an optically light construction despite the size of the kitchen.

One of the key elements to get a visual space was also the selection of colours and finishes. Our proposed combination in shades of green and black with white tops and brass details turned out to be in perfect harmony with the proposed grey micro cement covering the surfaces of the ceiling and floor walls, creating a consistent and fresh design.
