Notting Hill House

NOTTING HILL HOUSE – 2015
100 sqm house
Approx. budget £82K

A small renovation project of our friend’s two-story house, hidden in a quiet alley of Notting Hill. The brief was clear and simple – transform the existing interior of the house using the smallest possible amount of new elements and a fairly limited budget.

For this reason, we decided to introduce only the necessary adjustments – including moving the bedroom wall and refurbishing the existing kitchen by changing the colour of the fronts and worktops. We also uncovered part of the brick wall and added concrete panels on the opposite wall, which gave us a slightly industrial effect.

The key was to design a micro dining room that also serves as a bookcase and separates the staircase from the living room. To obtain the optical effect of enlarging the space of a fairly small bathroom, we used white varnished panels, illuminated with LED strips, behind which we hid cabinets with cosmetics.
