Notting Hill Mezzanine

NOTTING HILL MEZZANINE – 2015
36 sqm + 10 sqm mezzanine
Approx. budget £175K

A tiny, cute studio flat designed for young design lovers, with sophisticated taste and specific expectations.

After discussing several concepts with clients, we decided to go ahead with an open kitchen plan, which allowed us to meet the requirements for expanding the living area and utilize the entrance space. From the previously unused attic space, we created a small and cosy bedroom by placing it on a mezzanine platform partially open to the living room. Thanks to the opening of the ceiling above the living room, we obtained a beautiful vertical space which we emphasized with vertical elements of the fireplace mantel mirror and a beautiful vintage chandelier.

The whole interior was united by calm colours and a specially prepared plaster structure which also creates the sound isolation membrane.

Two small wardrobes are hidden in the corridor and under the stairs fulfil their functions without visual interference in the space where the carefully selected free-standing furniture and art free play the crucial role.
